“Exploring the Future: Mariano Sigman and Artificial Intelligence as a Bridge to New Possibilities.”
Artificial intelligence is already part of our daily lives, though we might not realize we are using it. For more specific tasks, there are different tools that use AI to optimize time and results. However, some people are still reluctant to implement it in their work.
That’s why Mariano Sigman, PhD in Neuroscience, writer, and co-director of the Human Brain Project, shared some advice on Blu 4.0 for those who are still hesitant or struggle to use artificial intelligence.
According to the renowned expert, the first step to making AI an ally is to approach an intuitive and easy-to-use tool like ChatGPT.
“It’s simply about getting in, experimenting, realizing it’s not a seven-headed monster, but a program that is very similar to WhatsApp. It’s a chat where I can ask a question, which sometimes says silly things, sometimes something surprising, and something useful,” he said on Blu 4.0.
Another piece of advice from Sigman is to be open to learning, to let yourself be surprised, and to analyze the results.
“It’s like a very sophisticated restaurant, and you say: ‘Let’s see what happens.’ You give yourself a bit, but in a good sense, with curiosity and appreciation for surprising things. Don’t react with the automatic thinking of the human brain and reject what is different,” he added.
Last but not least, he recommended being clear about why you want to use artificial intelligence, what the objective is to reach “places where you couldn’t without these tools.”
60% of companies already use artificial intelligence
A study by NTT revealed that 60% of companies in Latin America are already incorporating artificial intelligence into their operations. That’s why Lina María Bello, Director of Data & Analytics at NTT Data Colombia, commented on Blu 4.0 that “Colombia is the country that sees the most potential in AI for their businesses compared to the region.”
